Astolat Celebrant

Words that fit their world – and yours

Celebrating life’s events is about recognition of those moments of arrival, coming together and of passing that define the boundaries of ourselves and the families and friendship circles within in which we live.

Non-religious services sound like they might be without feeling, warmth and belief; they are not. They are simply services that don’t fall within the demarcation of the ‘mainstream’ religions. In essence, they can be what you want them to be – what they ought to be for the person whose life is being celebrated.

In addition to Funeral and memorial services, Astolat also provides Naming Day services and Wedding Day Celebrations too. Based in East Surrey we cover Surrey, Sussex, Kent and Hampshire but always happy to discuss events further afield. In addition we will help coordinate livestreamed events with venues around the globe.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR VISION

An initial meeting will outline what we can do and allow us to understand the vision you might have for your loved one’s service. No matter if you don’t have a plan – we can work together and develop ideas based on thoughts you may have – or the many questions you might want to ask.

From the first chat right up to the day itself we have a lot of flexibility around what is possible and the tailoring of this ultimate celebration is at the centre of what we do at Astolat.

We will work with your chosen Funeral Director and can join the meeting with them if you require – we will also liaise with the Chapel selected for the service. We can coordinate live streaming of the service to remote audiences and/or venues. We can arrange creation of the printed Order of Service if you would prefer.

CREATING THE DAY

Many folk prefer a non-religious service – one that allows them to step away from traditional sectarian constraints whilst remaining within the familiar setting of a Chapel for Cremation. Others would really like to do something different – or have indeed specified that in advance – and that’s not a problem.

There are many alternative venues and interment options available which we are more than happy to discuss with you as we develop the service you require.

Once dates and places are set, we will have a further discussion on the content of the service, comprised of tributes, readings, eulogies and other meaningful texts. This is when we can create a story of a life which evokes the essence of the individual and we can explore that life and personality in ways an audience might not be expecting. In doing so we will create new memories of the person the listeners are missing – new memories to place carefully with their own.

Much appreciated

I wanted to tell you how much the people here appreciated your stewardship of Tracy’s farewell. I have had people stop me to say that they wished you could be the celebrant for them when their time came – which isn’t something you would expect to hear every day – although I suspect that you probably do!

Capturing her spirit

You captured her spirit beautifully and there were many tears but also many laughs – which is no mean feat for a funeral.

Thank you

John, Thank you. There were a lot of tears amongst the memory smiles on Lamma Island. But the memories were great; almost as if she was with us.

Wonderful service

Wonderful service John. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
